14 Mar Conviction of My Heart
Recently, a man at my church passed away unexpectedly. This man was passionate about the Word of God. He urgently and boldly begged people to stay in the Word daily for their lives. Our Pastor went to minister to his grieving widow and she gave him the Bible that he read from daily. He not only pleaded with people to get in the Word, memorize the Word, and know the Word personally within their hearts…..he truly did it himself. The pages you see above from Ephesians are marked from beginning to end. But that’s not all. EVERY page in his Bible is marked this exact same way. Seeing this Bible convicted my heart mightily. It made me realize that at the end of my life, whenever God chooses to take me home, I want to know God’s Word as this man did. Not just a casual glance at the Scriptures when I have the time, but a boldness to know Him more each and every day from the pages of the greatest book that has ever been written. One day, I want my kids to look at my marked up Bible and know that I was a mom that truly loved the scriptures with all of my heart. (Melody)
